Convene WorkPlace
Project Overview
Convene is a premium co-working space similar to WeWork that has locations in New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., LA, and London. Their main value propositions are their flexible-term meeting and workspace solutions that they offer alongside mixed-used co-working spaces.
They aimed to release a new version of their WorkPlace member app in 2019, to coincide with the launch of a new Convene building space opening in New York City. Fuzz was brought in to design and test new features that would provide members with a seamless Convene experience, in six one week sprints. Later, Convene engaged the team for the re-design of their member web portal, where Fuzz led the discovery and design.
Core Features
Convene came with a hypothesis of which features should be included, but wanted those assumptions challenged through user research. Our findings supported most of the prioritized features with the exception of editorial content. The biggest pain-points Convene members experienced were booking last minute conference rooms and inviting visitors to the office since these were tasks that required support from the Workplace Experience Manager. Related to the member pain-point, we also discovered that Workplace Experience Managers were overwhelmed with managing these tasks.
App Architecture: Our solutions needed to consider several existing platforms that required integrations
The core features for the final Convene workplace app are seamless Authentication, a Book Now feature that allows users to find and book available meeting rooms, Inviting Visitors, and a calendar of Events happening at Convene locations. The settings flow was also redesigned to make it easier for members to update their notification preferences and change locations.
Throughout this project, we conducted frequent user testing to ensure we were bringing the most value to Convene members and decreasing the workload of Workplace Experience Managers in a meaningful way.
